The Shankaracharya Math, which is supposed to have been created by sage Adi Shankaracharya, is the next stop in Joshimath. You can visit the Yogdhyan Badri temple in Pandukeshwar, which is around 15 kilometres distant. This is one of Uttarakhand's Sapta Badris, or Lord Vishnu's seven temples. Badrinath is only one kilometre away. Visit the Badrinath Temple and take a swim in the hallowed Tapt Kund early in the morning. Explore Badrinath town before returning to Rudraprayag. Stop at Vishnuprayag, the confluence of the Alaknanda and Dhauliganga rivers, about 120 kilometres away. After a leisurely breakfast, you can depart for Haridwar a little later. Stop at Rishikesh and take a look around. Go for a walk around Haridwar.
