Srisailam Temple is a highly revered shrine that houses one of the twelve 'Jyotirlingams' of India. Located at Srisailam, falling under the Kurnool district of Andhra Pradesh, the shrine is visited by thousands of people every year. Rishabhagiri Hill, also known by the name of Sri Giri, Sriparvata, Rudra Parvata and Seshachalam, makes the venue of this temple. River Krishna flows by the side of the temple; here it is called as 'Pataalganga'.

Srisailam is a holy religious city for the Hindus. It is settled on Nallamala mountain, Andhra Pradesh. The distance from Hyderabad to Srisailam is 232 km. Srisailam temple is located on the banks of Krishna river in the south. Srisailam temple dedicated to lord Mallikarjuna Swami and Bholambar. Srisailam is one of the twelve Jyotirlingas of Lord Shiva. The original origin of srisailam temple is unknown. In the Skanda Purana, there is a chapter called Shri Shell Kand. Hindus consider Srisailam a holy city. Every year, lakhs of pilgrims from all over the country come to visit. This city has many famous temples and Thirtham which make it a popular pilgrim center among pilgrims and tourists. The most famous temple of these city temples is Bharmarambha Mallikarjuna Swamy Temple which is dedicated to Lord Shiva and his wife Devi Parvati.
